Let’s talk about trends, shall we? People always seem to have opinions about this topic, negative and positive. Some people LIVE to be trendy (hi, me, I do) while others despise it and want to be there own person. I respect the decision of both sides. I think at the end of the day you need to dress for you and ONLY you. You need to wear something that makes you feel confident and excited to get dressed. If you are into a trend, wear it, if you aren’t then don’t. It’s pretty simple, getting dressed should be selfish. Think about you and only you and you will prevail. Because let’s be honest, there’s nothing more stylish then being confident with who you are. ( sounds so cheesy but it’s so fucking true.)
Speaking of Trends, hello velvet. Unless you have been living under a rock, it is no secret that velvet has stolen the show this season. It is everywhere and I am not mad about it. Velvet to me has always felt like it needed to be worn during the holidays, but now it’s become such a transitional fabric, I can’t wait to wear it into spring. I’m also super into this layering trend. Normally, I would have never bought a velvet mini dress in the dead of winter, but being able to pair it with a turtle neck was a game changer. For this look I styled it with boots and a turtleneck, but in the warmer months I would trade out the turtleneck for a basic white tee, and the boots for some white sneakers. I love being able to make a purchase that can work for multiple seasons! Shop some of my velvet picks below!
